Who Wants to be 100?
Who wants to be 100? (Anyone Who is 99) By Roger Hall Directed by Julie Lankshear "Not to be missed" - Bay of Plenty Times On stage 24th November to 11th December 2010. Wednesdays to Saturdays 8 pm, Sundays 2 pm. Doors and box office open one hour prior.
Any play by Roger Hall is a must see. He has taken us through all the stages of life, from civil service, to mid-life crises, to mature students, suburban share clubs and book clubs, to overseas travel and retirement.
This time he shows us how to laugh as he exposes our hopes and fears, joys and sorrows and makes us laugh. Welcome to the Regina Rest Home where the old boys network is alive and kicking with a retired Q.C., an ex-all black, a former university professor and a famous potter among the residents. They are determined to enjoy their twilight years and declare war on illness, old age, guilty wives, greedy off-spring and the quality of the catering. With wives and daughter visiting, we appreciate the pathos, wry humour, astute observations and legendary one-liners contained in this play. Its kiwi characters makes Who Wants to be a 100? a definite must see, at our Sixteenth Avenue Theatre. Sit back, relax and enjoy.
